CONVERSION OF 17TH CENTURY APARTMENT BUILDING IN RIGA

Dome Hotel & Spa is a contemporary design hotel, merged into historical substance of 17th century apartment building. Historical evidences prove that the basement of current building has remained from 13th century. Architectural design concept is based on retaining balance between preserving and renovating historical elements, contemporary design solutions and satisfying comfort level characteristic for high class hotel. Sensitive approach towards historical values can be found throughout the building – renovated 18th century wooden staircase, doors, windows and wall paintings. New 4 story volume and vertical green wall in the courtyard are the most significant contemporary architecture contributions in this project. Common feature to 15 hotel rooms is maximal use of daylight and functional, tasteful layout.
